BEAUTY BLOGGERS SHOPPING PARTY : MY MAKEUP HAUL
THE BEAUTY BACKSTAGE
EVENT
Bhagi International – official Philippine distributor of Catrice, Deborah Milano, Essence, Flormar, Jordana USA, Il Salone, Joe of London, and Entity
I’ve never been with as many happy and undecided beauty bloggers in one room at the same time as the #BeautyBackstagePH event. We were handed gift coupons and asked to pick 3 to 4 items from beauty booths filled with makeup from Catrice, Essence, Jordana, Deborah Milano, Il Salone, Flormar, Joe of London, all of which you can find at Watsons or SM Beauty store. Map out the cute shopping venue above!
My treasure hunting plan was to get their bestselling products, cos those are probably the things that you guys would like to see me review. So my intro questions for each brand representative were — “hi what are your bestselling products?” or “ate, what’s almost ubos (gone) na?”. I also took notes from basically every blogger i stood beside. I don’t have a lot of friends who love makeup so shopping with other beauty bloggers who gets the same amount of kilig (excitement) whenever i swatch a highlighter was such a good bonding experience!
THE MOST WANTED
PRODUCTS
aka those that ran out first
Thanks to Katsy who warned me to get there early, I got the chance to get first dibs on some most wanted shades and products. I took note of the items that ran out first, cos you know a product is potentially really good if the “Makeup Addicts” are fighting over it — kidding! No fighting was involved but we felt the pressure to pick the good stuff asap before they are gone. The most wanted products during the event are:
(#1) Deborah Milano Absolutely Lasting Liquid Lipstick in shade #03 — Thanks to Liz‘s occasional pop up recommendations at the event I got a hold of this lipstick! She mentioned this was similar to a certain Makeup Forever lipstick. I immediately let go of the Raffles-chips shaped bronzer (I wanted to get it for that reason lol!) and grabbed the second to the last tube of this shade. You guys, I would never have guessed that this is a drugstore brand because it sure feels like its a high-end lipstick when worn. The shade is a flattering MLBB medium pink neutral. Update: shade turns darker after while with its top gloss on
(#2) Jordana’s Sweet Creams Matte Liquid Lip Color is also the bomb, you guys. I’m impressed at how beautiful the colors Tiramisu (my favorite cake. partly the reason why I got it. can you tell I was hungry then) and Rose Macaron (I got the last few tubes of both shades). They are well pigmented and the best thing is that they smell so much like to the “cupcake scented” Kylie Lip Kits that i love.
(#3) Essence Lip Liner in shade (11) In The Nude was gone in a flash! There was a blogger who wore this MLBB warm peach shade on her lips and everybody who heard her recommend the shade wanted to get that lip liner. Thankfully Julia‘s fast ninja reflexes were able to grab the last piece when she heard me say “OH I WANT THAT TOO”! It’s a beautiful lip liner, thanks Julia!
(#4) Catrice’s All MATT Plus Shine Control Powder had a few stocks left at the booth last time I checked it. I’m not sure if it ran out but Liz suggested it and I’ve seen european bloggers rave about this too (and the bronzer!). I haven’t tried it yet so really can’t say much about it now. Other than it’s good reputation I really like it’s packaging. My T-zone has been oily lately so we’ll see how this powder performs.
(#5) Flormar Illuminating Primer Makeup Base, i think, was one of the products that ran out first. I haven’t tried it yet so I will get back to you on this. But can i just tell you how impressed i was at their huge face and body bronzer (bronzer with the sun engraving). My friends suggested i get this but it was out of stock everywhere in the PH so they only had one tester at the event. Tried it and i almost begged their brand manager if i could take it home. Its like a warmer, a little bit darker version of Nars Laguna bronzer.
I hope you can swatch these makeup next time you visit Watson’s or the SM Beauty Stores. I’m going to use them some more and then get back to you with a more in-depth review hopefully very soon! Congratulations to Liz Lanuzo and the entire Project Vanity team for hosting such a memorable event! One of the best I’ve been to!
Have you tried any of these products?
For the Bloggers who were there shopping with me, did we end up getting the same stuff? :)

You finally get to try out catricee!! You know it’s one of my favourite brands :3 I would suggest you their Liquid Concealer! It’s my current concealer ( I own both shades) and their waterproof powder is a staple in my makeup bag!
I’m really curious about jordana’s liquid lipsticks! (or any liquid lipstick in general…it’s quite a staple in my routine) Their shade’s look really nice!!!
I really want to try Jordana’s Rose Macaron. The Catrice All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder looks good. I’ll save up for those.
Saw that event in other vloggers/bloggers IG stories. That really is fun, shopping for makeup and other stuff for free. Among those brands I’ve tried Jordana matte lipstick and the Essence products (blush, mascara and eyeliner). I want to try Flormar and Catrice, good they are available at SM Dept. Stores
That is indeed a great event all great products in one roof. As for me I’ve tried Essence blush, eyeliner pencil and mascara. Jordana matte lipsticks. I’m looking forward to try Catrice and Flormar too
