FIVE SHOWS TO WATCH ON NETFLIX
Lets take a break from all the beauty reviews and swatches for awhile and bond over these TV shows — promise at least one, if not all, of these shows will entertain you. I’m a huge TV-addict. Part of my dream retirement life is to watch Doctor Who, face mask on (yes, face masks forever LOL), while eating hummus on my bed.
My addiction reached its peaked lately ‘cos of Netflix Philippines — which btw is now officially partnered with Globe. This means, just like what Globe did with Spotify, that in near the future, Globe subscribers could get free Netflix subscriptions included in their broadband plans. Globe hasn’t given any specific details yet though so we’ll just have to watch out. They also might as well make sure the internet is fast enough to stream the shows. If you ever get Netflix or if you have it already, check out my top five TV shows recommendation I binge watch on Netflix Philippines, and then tell me me what you think about them.
PRETTY LITTLE LIARS
Suspense shows freak me out. As in I disturb half of my household at 2:00 in the morning because I need someone to watch over me as I go to the bathroom, just in case the murderer finds her way into our house… You know for valid reasons LOL. I willingly endured all this just so I could find out who on earth “A” was. It’s one of those shows that you watch cos the cast, set, and everything they wear are as good as the storyline. I have to warn you though, that it can get frustrating cos it took awhile to solve the PLL big mystery but the journey is totally worth the wait.
SHERLOCK
European TV series writers make the most mind blowing stories. Sherlock might as well be called a movie because they only release about 1 to 2… or maybe just 1 movie-level episode per year! Half a lifetime spent waiting for an update on Sherlock and Mr. Watson’s shenanigans. This show is perfect for you if you don’t have a lot of time to invest on long TV shows. You might need to watch some of the episodes twice to really understand them well, most fans either missed some important details or couldn’t understand the accents easily. Other than that everything about it is brilliant including the perfectly casted actors; Benedict Cumberbatch (who also plays Marvel’s Dr. Strange) and Martin Freeman (aka Bilbo Baggins).
GOSSIP GIRL
Gossip Girl is your usual teen show of the rich and famous but with a Mean Girls twist to it. Come to think of it, GG was mostly about how to be a bad friend, girlfriend, daughter, and so on… and the rest is all about the outfits yasss! Okay I’m kidding, it does have positive moments worth your while but needless to say the main reason why I enjoyed GG was because of the fancy decor and amazing wardrobes Blair and Serena wore. I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way. This show got almost every girl wearing headbands back then. I even built a headband shop inspired by GG.
THE ORIGINALS
It was hard to choose between The Vampire Diaries and The Originals. TVD’s season 1 to 3 had many heart warming moments with the Damon-Elena-Stefan (insert Katherine – remember her?) love triangle. But this show has spiralled down ever since Elena and Damon broke up IRL. I have to thank them tho for giving us its spin off series, The Originals which I am obsessed with ATM. The Originals talks about the “royal family” of vampires and their neck snapping, death filled feud with each other and the politics against the other “factions” aka the witches and werewolves. Sounds cheesy I know but trust me this is far… far away from Twilight’s level of cheesiness.
DOCTOR WHO
Last but definitely not the least is my favorite show of all time… all time guys. That says a lot because i watch a lot of shows. Doctor Who is one of the longest running shows for a reason. It’s about “The Doctor” who’s sort of an immortal Time Lord (he can regenerate many many times, hence the row of actors who played him), his TARDIS — the blue time machine, and his adventures with his BFFs.
Once you get past the old fashioned why-is-it-like-that introduction song and graphics, you’ll fall in love at how beautifully written this show is. The storylines are out of this world cos it includes time travel and the entire universe. If you’re confused with what episode to watch first, my favorite stories are from the 11th Doctor played by Matt Smith which begins in Season 5. You’ll also witness lots of famous guest movie stars including those who played Dumbledore, Gandalf, Spiderman and so on…
We’re BFFs if you know and watch any of these series! Did you find any shows you like on the list? Some shows that almost made the cut are… Supernatural, Teen Wolf, and Jane The Virgin. Have any recommendations for me?

Netflix, face masks, and hummus? May I join? :D Some of my favorite things! I fell behind on PLL. I’m going to finish up Gilmore Girls and start rewatching it. Gossip Girl is on my list of shows to watch.

yes please join! who knows maybe someday well be in the same city and we can go on a PLL marathon lol! im rewatching gilmore girls atm :)
Most of these are on my list! I’ve always been meaning to check out Vampire Diaries (and The Originals). I watched a season of Pretty Little Liars but stopped for whatever reason. At the time that I wanted to watch a Sherlock Holmes show, it was a choice between Elementary and Sherlock. The former won out, but I want to see what the Cumberbatch-mania is all about. :)
ay you’ll enjoy the cumberbatch-mania :) that actor is super talented and funny. check out his impersonations online if you have time.
Pretty little liar they could dress as well as Gossip Girl

Ahh I love Sherlock and Doctor Who and Steven Moffat is an amazing writer!! Great list! If it’s available in your country, I would recommend Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt as well! It’s so funny and cute!
I watch all these shows expect for The Originals (because I can’t deal with it after how much I hate TVD) and Doctor Who. I do want to start with the latter someday, just don’t know where to begin haha. Sherlock is wonderful! I’m currently watching The Tudors on Netflix and rewatching Freaks & Geeks ^^
I am yet to get Netflix! I’ve been thinking about getting it into my Xbox for a while.
Sherlock is a really good TV Series!
And if you allow me, I would also recommend Orphan Black and Sense8 ( this one is actually an original series from them) which some of my favourite tv shows :3

Done watching all seasons of Sherlock. Netfilx is fine, it’s just that the pirate in me always kicks in so I downloaded my series episodes instead of streaming then online… LOL.. Anyway, I’m a TV Series addict so I watch a whole lot of US TV Series…. hehehe
“European TV series writers make the most mind blowing stories.” SO TRUE! Doctor Who and Sherlock pa lang, right? I can’t handle the awesomeness of these talented TV writers. I’m glad that we share the same interests! :)
The love triangle mostly. I’m so over love triangles and they beat that one to death, and did it all wrong. So bad. Eventually I ended up hating almost every character excluding Tyler and Caroline (the latter regained my love after going from annoying and flat to a well-rounded character). So I decided it was time to let go. Find better/more fitting entertainment.
Ayy you know me sis. Gossip Girl forever. Hahaha. Although I didn’t get into the headband fashion, I adore Blair sooo much. Also, I’m itching to start watching Doctor Who. Parang mahaba habang panahon ang kailangan. Lol
